Melinda has realized that she has not really had any real friends at all since being in high school. Sure, Heather was nice to her and wanted to hang out from time to time, but when Heather realizes that she and Melinda are way different, she wants out of the friendship. Mainly because Melinda is a dark person, like depressed all the freaking time. All that Melinda really has time for anymore is her art, trying to find herself in a world that absolutely hates and despises her.

Heather wants to be a part of “the martha’s” and Melinda would like to continue in her silent ways and be left alone. She wants as little drama as possible. But when Heather decides to cut off their friendship, and she realizes it was kind of nice to have a friend. She wants friends but has absolutely no idea how to make them or keep them. It is actually a fairly simple concept after being through what she has been through. I think that her and Heather’s friendship was really good for her and also an eye opener. It is kind of sad.

It didn't make much sense but fortunately I kinda understand. I think that your right with the fact that Melinda needs a friend and that she has not really had any real friends. I think that it was good but it seriously needs some correction so that it makes more sense.

I kind of disagree with you when you say that Heather and Melindas friendship was good. I think that Heather just wanted someone to kick it with until she got into a "cooler" crowd. I think she just straight up used her. I think that there friendship was fake.
