Harry Houdini

Harry Houdini is the son of Mayor Samuel Weiss, and was born in Appleton Wisconsin. His real moms name was Cecilia Steiner, Samuel’s second wife. Harry Houdini, or his real name Erich Weiss, was born on April 6, 1874. His greatest accomplishment was the torture cell escape. Out of the creed he would fit under personal growth, because of the new trials and hardships he was willing to face. He learned and grew from what he went through.

He was a magician and illusionist. He escaped life/death situations and proved it could be done. His main inspiration went to a man named Robert Houdini. Harry took his name and made his own, added an I at the end and that’s where he got his new name. He ran away from home when he was 12. A year later, he came back to his family. He lived life to its fullest and tried as many things as he could.

The Torture Cell Escape, his greatest accomplishment of all. This escape featured a tall, rectangular cell full of water. Harry suspended over it upside down  by his feet, his feet locked in stocks. The cell had a glass front so the audience had a clear view of Harry Houdini. The stocks would lower and lock on the top of the cell, leaving Harry upside down in the water. A curtain would conceal his escape. He used to do this act while in a metal cage instead of the stock. Back then harry called this the ‘’Houdini Upside Down,’’ or ‘’USD.’’ That is the best accomplishment of his life because neither I nor any other ordinary man could accomplish that.

The aspect of the creed that Harry Houdini falls under is personal growth. Like I said before he’s fearless, lived his life to the fullest, and tried new things. When I say he’s fearless, I mean he risked his life to prove whatever it was that he was trying to prove, which in my eyes is that he wanted to prove that things can be done. Even in the worst of circumstances. He lived his life to its fullest; he didn’t fear death, or the consequences of what he was doing. He believed not in fear. He tried new things; he had so many incredible acts and crazy shows. But still he wanted more. He expanded and learned so that’s why he is under personal growth.

What other aspect of the creed would the famous Harry Houdini fit into better than ‘’personal growth?’’ Another question I have to ask is what other act of his is better than his ‘’Chinese Torture Cell Escape?’’ That’s right, nothing! You can be as bad as Harry Houdini in a lot of ways, like expanding your knowledge and going to school. Or try new stuff like food, or music or whatever you want. But don’t stop there! Keep going, like Harry did until his last breath. Help others; entertain people in positive ways where everyone is accepted and laughs. Try it.

Malcolm X

Malcolm X was sent to prison for 8 years for coordinating prostitution, drugs, and gambling rings. While in prison Malcolm studied Elijah Muhammad, leader of the nation of Islam, for more than 3 years. When released he changed his last name to “x” because he thought Little was a slave name. In Malcolm’s’ earlier years he was a very smart kid whop was always ready to learn he wanted to be a lawyer but his favorite teacher said “it wasn’t the right dream for a black male.”

Malcolm had 7 siblings who were all separated because there mom Louis Little had a mental break down about her husband Earl Little’s death a year before this. Malcolm reunited with his half sister Ella Little years after in New York., Malcolm was a petty criminal, in 1942 Malcolm was coordinating drugs, prostitution, and gambling rings. Malcolm met a friend with the name Malcolm jives, and they moved back to Boston, in 1946 they were both arrested for burglary Malcolm placated himself by using his 8 year sentence to finish his school when paroled I 1052 he was a devoted follower to Elijah Muhammad ,leader of the nation of Islam,.

Malcolm’s greatest achievement would be when he converted to the nation of Islam. Malcolm’s conversion made him a better person because he gave up criminal activity he no longer does drug, gamble, and buy prostitutes. Malcolm x knew he was going to follow the rules of Elijah and the other rulers as well he accepted the consequences and the positive things that would happen. When Malcolm wanted to be a follower to the nation of Islam he stuck with it no matter how many threats and racist comments they had said to him over the years.

Malcolm x is a good example of over coming adversity by over coming the challenges he had to face with his past coming back to haunt him and all the temptation. Malcolm shows that he overcomes challenges a lot like when he went to prison he chose to finish school and in his cell he would remines on how he could rob houses and comment criminal activity more differently but in stead he chose to follow the nation of Islam. People didn’t realize he was once a criminal until he died when someone wrote a biography that showed why he was that man was in his day and why he spoke out agents the lies they would say and to speak out agents black people being treated wrong.

When Malcolm went back to school in prison and proved his teacher wrong was a great way he over came adversity. When Malcolm spoke out about the nation of Islam even threw the treats was a good achievement. We all say we will prove people wrong but most of us don’t we ether forget or we give up we should all keep a goal and stick with it and when we achieve that goal we should not gloat about it but instead just have a smile from self satisfaction.

Babe Ruth

Babe Ruth was homeless when he was little.  When babe grew up he became profession baseball player. Babe is famous for hitting more then 300 home runs of all time. One greatest accomplishment he has is starting off from the bottom of life to moving up to the worlds most home run hitter in all of the major league baseball. The Babe was a very successful person in his time, mostly because homeless were not accepted in many ways in the earlier years, but he managed to move to the top of life as we know.
Babe Ruth was a really nice guy growing up and he had nothing at all, he had no money, he barely had any food to eat and he felt abanded from his parents so he had to take care of him self. When he got older all of that changed and he started to play a game called baseball. He got really good at it and he wanted to become famous but a lot of people who were poor couldn’t really afford to go into the practices and become famous but Babe did it and he became the best baseball player of all time and he just started from nothing. The babe has taught many people not to give up in your dreams and to keep moving forward, to always live your dream because that is what he did. The quote “I Show Respect” is more like The Babe because he had nothing to start with in life and came out with everything and he never was a bully or was never mean to anyone. He was a nice little he showed respect to everyone and everything and because of that he got his dream come true.
One greatest accomplishment he has is starting off from the bottom of the life to moving up to the worlds most home run hitter in all of the major league baseball. The babe was a very successful person in his time, mostly because the homeless were not accepted in many ways in the earlier years, but he managed to move to the top of life as we know. This is his biggest accomplishment because the poor couldn’t be in any major accomplishments when he was young but he did get in one baseball activity and he got to live his dream and he became a famous person and has hit more then 300 home runs of all time so that is why it is his accomplishment.
I show respect to other so that I can respect myself and be deserving of the respect of other is the part of the creed that is most likely like The Babe. The Babe has respect for others because he has shown everyone that we can accomplish our dreams and that we can’t give up. He has shown respect to his parents even though they practically abandoned him when he was little and he still shows respect for them to this day.
To show respect, that is how Babe is because he is respectful to the whole world and has been before the 1900s. When The Babe was little he had nothing at all, no family, no job, no nothing, he had to practically raise himself so when he grew up he started to play baseball and he got so good that he became the worlds biggest baseball player of all time. Something we should really learn about the babe is that we can never give up on what we want in live and to keep moving forward. Even if wedont have anything in life you can still achieve what you want because that is what he did.

Abraham Lincoln

ABRAHAM LINCOLN FROM PIONEER TO PRESIDENT.
At first in Abraham Lincolns life he became a lawyer. Then he got into politics. Later on in Abraham Lincolns  life he became president and passed the law of Emancipation Proclamation even though Abraham Lincoln passed the law at first the Emancipation Proclamation didn’t free any slaves.
What made Abraham Lincoln famous was that he freed the slaves. “I pledge to be CARING toward other and live a life of SERVICE” Abraham Lincoln cared about the blacks being slaves. He is a president for his service.
Early in Abraham Lincolns life he went to law school and became a lawyer. Later on Lincoln ran for president and won the election. Later on he was re-elected for president and he was aiming for peace. He also passed the Emancipation Proclamation which freed the slaves inside of the United States of America.
Abraham Lincolns biggest accomplishment was freeing the slaves. With the Emancipation proclamation. On the day he signed it no slaves were freed till like a week later. Without Lincoln signing and passing the Emancipation Proclamation the black slaves would of not been freed and he probably wouldn’t of won the Civil War.
Abraham Lincoln exemplifies the part of the creed that says “I pledge to be CARING toward others and live a life of SERVICE.” Abraham Lincoln cared about the blacks being slaves that’s why he freed them. Abraham Lincoln did care or he wouldn’t of freed the slaves. Abraham Lincoln cared about getting the war over with so people could have rights. If Abraham Lincoln didn’t care he would of kept the war going and losing men. Abraham Lincoln became president so he could serve his country. If Abraham Lincoln didn’t want a life a service he would of not became president of the United States of America.
Abraham Lincoln resembles the part of the creed that says “I pledge to be caring and live a life of service.” Abraham Lincoln lived a life of service by becoming the president of the United States twice. Abraham Lincoln did free the slaves with the law of Emancipation Proclamation. We should all try to be caring towards others so that everybody can feel excepted in today’s society.

Frederick Douglass

Fredrick Douglass was an African American and a former slave in the south. He grew up in slavery and taught himself hoe to read and write. Fredrick was famous for fighting for the rights of blacks, and played a big part in abolishing slavery in the south. With his past as a slave and now as a public speaker, he exemplifies good citizenship and overcoming adversity. He was not afraid to spread his message of eliminating slavery by giving speeches. Douglass over came racism, abuse, and being treated unfairly and this is what got him to where he was.
At the age of seven Fredrick remembers having some of his family in slavery with him. He was a slave for Thomas Auld. Thomas’s slaves never had much food, got clothes once a year and , and were weak while the had to work all day in the farms. Thomas’ wife did not think Fredrick was getting the punishments he deserved, so they sent him to a man named Edward Covey. Having put up with Covey’s cruelty for six months Fredrick decided to take a stand for him self and fight back never again did covey lay a hand on Fredrick. After Fredrick left Covey’s he went to go work for Hugh Auld, as a caulker in his shipyard Fredrick wanted to work so that he can buy his freedom and get his manumission papers that stated he was a free black man. In 1833 when Fredrick was 15 he taught himself how to read and write by using chalk to write and books to make sounds.
Fredrick had many accomplishments such as, being A freedom fighter, he taught himself how to read and write, but the most shocking was him running away from slavery. Having been a former slave Fredrick wanted to fight for the rights and freedom of blacks. He wanted all blacks to share the same rights a s the whites. In 1833 Fredrick decided he not only wanted but needed to learn how to write and read. So he did by using chalk to write and books to make sounds. At the age of 20 Fredrick ran from slavery and headed north with his wife Anna Murray. While being in the north Fredrick noticed that whites were wealthy, had no slaves, and were nice to blacks. Fredrick decided to take a stand and make a difference for him and for the slaves that were left behind.
Fredrick exemplifies good citizenship and over coving adversity. He was a public speaker who spread his words to help abolish slavery, so that blacks can have the same equal rights and freedom. No matter how hard his life was, Fredrick remembered the slaves, and it made him fight harder for the rights of those who have suffered. Blacks were treated like animals, so for Fredrick to do this for them was a good example of good citizen ship. Fredrick also overcame adversity and many challenges. Having been treated like an animal and being abused, while facing racism, he overcame adversity everyday of his life.
Never being afraid to fight for freedom and rights, Fredrick was a good citizen to his society. Wanting to see blacks free Fredrick fought for what his people needed. In the process of fighting for their rights and freedom, Fredrick overcame adversity and challenges. No matter what got in his way Fredrick over came it. Running away from slavery and later becoming a public speaker, he achieved his goal by putting his words out there, to abolish slavery. Many of us are to scared too put ourselves out there and do what is right, but overcoming barriers and challenges will help us become stronger, positive, influential members of our society.

Lance Armstrong

In Lance Armstrong’s early days, he had it where people weren’t accepted unless you were a foot ball player. Later in his life he got a disease called testicular cancer. His greatest accomplishment was he rode through the Tour De France and won 7 times. Lance is a great example of personal growth. After all he has been through, physically, emotion, spiritual, and mentally. He kept growing and learning how to be strong from his experiences.
Lance Armstrong started young doing triathlons. Then as he grew he became a triathlon champion. He kept continuing in the world by going to new and bigger races like the Tour De Pont. He later in his life had to find that he had cancer growing in his testicle. He was claimed to have testicular cancer. Then gradually he got out of the hospital and went off to go and win in the Tour De France.
Lance Armstrong’s greatest accomplishment is over coming cancer. It started that his testicles started to swell and that’s when he found that he had cancer. Then he headed off to several clinics to find help for the cancer he’s stumbled upon and on the way he had several chemo therapy treatments.
This is his greatest accomplishment because you never see people come out of cancer like Lance Armstrong did. He also stayed strong through all of his obstacles. This has got a lot of research going on about cancer to find a cure.
Lance did well in his personal growth in life. He went and had to use this in every race he had to tell him self he was stronger than what he felt. A lot of people like that because they go to school and have to tell themselves that they can learn as long as they are committed and study. He has also had to do that when he was going through cancer and telling himself to keep on going and not to give in.
A lot of people feel we are all like that whether were going through depression or just getting sick because we have to tell are selves to keep going. For instance getting through the cancer and going back to the riding and being so weak. A lot of people are like that when it gets hard they continue the best way they can. This all will take are wiliness to gain personal strength and growth.
Lance Armstrong learned in many aspects of life. He succeeded in so many different ways. He grew up from not being popular or even being liked to being one of the most liked and popular people. He grew up not really having friends and went on to doing triathlons. Then headed of to bigger races and came to realize that he had cancer. From there he went off to win the Tour De France after the curing of his cancer. He grew to have kids. He is a really great person to learn from because he shows when you’re going through a hard time in your life its better to try instead of trying to give up.

Muhammad Ali was known as the best boxier ever he started training to do boxing at the age of 12 because he said he was going to whoop who ever stole his bike which he received for his birthday Muhammad Ali between the ages of 18-19 he achieved one of his dreams winning an Olympic gold medal that was one of Muhammad Ali greatest moments of his life Muhammad Ali wasn’t just the greatest boxier of all time but he worked on developing integrity and live a honest life and he did this by following his dreams and doing what he thought was right by speaking out for what he believed was the right thing

Muhammad Ali was a child of two and at the age of 8 he once had all the kids in the neighborhood younger and older than him on his front porch and he was the only one talking by knowing that he could do that at the age of 8 that through out his life he is going to be a leader Muhammad Ali at the age of 8 was showing leadership skills by speaking to all the neighborhood kids then at the age of 12 he started boxing training all it took was an inspiring school principal to be always announcing him at school events as the next heavy weight champion then between the ages of 18-19 he won  an Olympic gold medal before he was 20 years of age he won his light heavy weight champion ship he was also announced 3-time heavy weight champion then he was also crowned sportsman of the century Muhammad Ali athleticness he spent most his free-time training for boxing career not only did he do that but he showed leader ship in his community this subject inspired me by to think so much because he was a great leader and a great athlete

Muhammad Ali greatest achievement was becoming a heavy weight boxing champion when nobody believed that he would and his next greatest achievement was him helping out the community that he grew up and being supportive of school and education that’s how he showed it by being supportive of education and helping out his community

There are 2 things from the creed that Muhammad Ali showed in his life one was I am working to develop integrity and live an honest life the second was I pledge to be caring towards others and live a life of service Muhammad Ali greatest achievements was becoming the heavy weight champion we should speak out more for the right things and help our community

Rosa Parks

Rosa park was a person that thought everyone should have rights. Rosa Parks stood up for her rights and was tired of being humiliated and treated unfairly. Rosa stood up to a white man, for equal rights, and shamed America into supporting civil rights for blacks. Rosa Parks cared toward others and lived a life of service. Rosa Parks never gave up she always stood up for her people/ American’s, and never gave up her dream, and risked her life.
Rosa Parks is an African American woman who was being humiliated and treated unfair. When she was born she was named Rosa Louise by her parent’s. Rosa lived a crazy life she had to work to feed her family. Rosa was a woman who fought for her rights. Rosa parks was homeschooled until she was eleven, then she attended a private school, Montgomery Industrial school for girls. Her life was sad because when she would ride the bus she had to go to the back because she was African, all African’s were treated badly, and they had to pay for a white person’s fare, if they were on front of the bus seat. Rosa received a presidential metal of freedom from President Bill Clinton. Rosa Parks died on October 24, 2005 at age 72.
I think Rosa Parks greatest accomplishment was when she stood up to a white man, equal rights. Parks shared America into supporting civil rights for blacks, she risked her life. Rosa achieved her goal by ending segregation on public transportation.  Rosa did what was right for the United States. I think that these were her accomplishments because she got the rule she was a women who fought back. Rosa was a hard worker, she went to school, worked to help support her family and to make sure they were fed.
Rosa Parks fits in the overcome, challenges, caring, and service aspect of the creed. Parks was caring because she cared for her family and cared about people’s rights. This African woman stood up for her rights and was tired of being treated how she was being treated. She overcome her fears and took her first tentative steps towards positive change, not just for her self but African Americans, and for all Americans. Her challenge was with the whites, she had to fight with them from everyone to have equal rights. Rosa got arrested because she refused to move seats on bus.
Rosa Parks was an African American who overcomes, challenges, caring. And service aspect of the creed. Her great achievement was that she never gave up for her rights, received a presidential metal of freedom from President Bill Clinton. We should all try to live a happy life and not be raises toward other raise, because everyone has the right to sit where they want and do what everyone does, do the same things other raise do.

A Walk in the Dark

As I walk in the dark, I see a bright spark. A part of me told me to go but I didn’t want to so I just said no. Then I saw someone walking towards me. I said to myself, please don’t hurt me. I turn around and sway, so I can get away. I fell a weird breeze and then I hear “Freeze”, so I just stood there hoping I wouldn’t get hurt. I hear a weird noise but it turns out to be a persons voice. The person comes to me saying “Cant you see, your not supposed to be her? not yet at least”. This person was a girl with beautiful long hair who lifted up the air and made it seem so perfect. I say to myself “what is wrong with this place? Am I invading there space?” why can’t I be here? “Come with me, then you will see.” She says to me. “BAMB” I get hit
On the head and black out. When I wake up, I’m back where I started, but with a horrid smell like someone sharted. I don’t know what happened and I don’t know why, but all I knew is that I had to say good-bye. I left, not knowing what had happened that day. Ever since that night I’ve been to scared to ever go out again. I would never take a walk in the dark, hoping I would never see that spark again.

Me

I am one, the one who went wrong the one who has one last chance one last chance to get straightened out
the one who feels bad for the ones that I had lied to
I , me ,my last chance there’s not another one for me
my next stop is D/T for me no more chances, explanations for me
I have to straighten up or get locked up
for me there’s two choices give up or straighten up
keep trying no not trying I’m gonna start doing
no more messing around
only no more doing to get by ,
I’m gonna be the best me

For My Son

I have loved you since
The day you were born
You are the greatest blessing
That I have ever received
I have helped to guide you through
Your life towards a good path
I have always been there for you
I want to see you go to college
Graduate from high school
Have a good job and have a happy family
And support your family
As a single mom
I have done the best I can
Because your dad is nothing but trash
Just like his family…
I know I can do it on my own
And see you grow
Because I have done it on my own
Sense you’ve been born
We don’t need a gangster in our life
That always lies to us
And is never there not even
For your birthday, or there to see you grow
But always remember that
No matter what happens this mom?
Will always love you and be there for you..
I messed up at school and they put me here and I feel stupid because my home is not near yeah my proctor is cool but I want my mother I miss going out or taking to my brother sometimes I complain about how life is so unfair how I’m all alone and no one seems to care the drugs took the chance my family my all but I’m still young and I can get back up when I fall sometimes I get visits but that’s not enough living away from home can get pretty tough being stupid changes your life and makes you think how your not always gonna be a prince or king.
My lil one
Though glass I saw you
It was romitic like a love story out of movie
Me in shackles
You getting ready to gotto court
All kinds of of sorts of thoughts went threw my mind
I don’t knowif I can find the word to describe my love its like you fell from above
I wonder why I tell myself
I still love you im still true waiting for you
To get realsed from the chains of the law its like you saw right threw me but
You still wait
Cause its my fate to be your date
Its never to late
To say
I love you

The Choices

Who chooses whether you can or not have resentments?
There are million of questions to be asked, but who do we let be the one to answer them. Who is the person who knows what is real and what isn’t
How we so sure what we think are real is really not I see it as a dream something you walk into with no thought about it.
All you see is what you want is reality we see.
Once is see the changing within me is thought where I can change the dream
I am lost in a bunch of choices and that to me is control over what is going on.
I am taking over my dream and the choices I have I am the maker of my reality.

My World

I’m tired of being put down and you messing with my head.
Everywhere I go I hear you saying I suck even when I’m in bed.
I’m sick of it you have put me on a lonely shelf.
But with all that I have done I can gladly say I’m proud of myself.

Don’t tell me to shut up who are you to yell?
Don’t tell me I’m not worth it because you can go to hell.
I belong here god died for me too and not just for you.
So like I said before don’t tell me what to do.

Giving me those looks and not even saying hi.
So when you’re all nice to me I know it’s just a lie.
I am beautiful and proud of being chunky.
I am not fat nor skinny I’m proud and lucky.

You can leave go ahead and shut the door.
And while you are at it keep on looking to the floor.
I don’t care what you call me word for word
Because all though you live here THIS IS MY WORLD .

The Keys

No more tricks or sick games with those men so lend me your hand an lets go to places you never did let me stay true to you so open your heart up an give me the key. To your trust so you can see all the lys you heard from those lames an’t the same as me
Cause I don’t play games cause ever since you came in my life it hasn’t been the same
Without you
My life would expire you’re my fire
That keeps
Me lit up
Cause each bit with you
Is like a taste of heaven
All I want is the keys
To your
Heart
My life on ecstacy was quite a fun ride
But how fun is it to smoke when you have to hide?
Everyone is stupid and the people yes I blame this is why I’m here my words I could not claim it was fun it was a trip a trip that got me here and in my family it took a rip I feel some what bad but not all the way because I’m a teenager I live day by day. I still want to do it it was oh man fun but like I said getting caught you feel dumb.
I might seem like a good kid but I still have my troubles.

I HATE YOU…

I wish I could rewind
Go back to where we started
Before all this started
Before you learn what to say to me
How to manipulate me, lie to our son
Now you have done again what you did before
CRUSHED ME
HURT ME
LIED TO ME
HURT YOUR SON
Made me think you were changing
You were just tearing our
Love apart, our son’s heart
You made me just like you, love you more
But till this day I don’t love you like I did
You are just a guy I met when I was young
And my baby daddy I don’t have feelings for
It’s not the same like it was when we fell in love at age 14
I hate you but deep inside I still love you…
I just can handle you hurting me, cheating on me
And Lying to me that’s why
I HATE YOU...

Root Words 1

I live in a democracy
Where the democrat side is a dominating dynasty
With a blow of dynamite but free like a liberty of love
In a philosophy
A philosophy on a drive to pulsate like a spirit
A spirit on a warm spring day with a warm breeze
In the night of sympathy in a vital formation of loves philosophy
Trying to contact like a tractor in a liberal aristocracy
Waiting for the end in a vital tribute
Adding to life like an addiction to a vitamin
Confidentially at work trying to transform

What is the looming figure?

I loom in the darkness waiting
Waiting for what?
Boom the words go pop in my head it’s like a mystery
That hasn’t been solved I see people in the darkness looking unsure and lost. You can look and see they are scared they are trapped and not sure how to get out.
I look deeply in the darkness I understand they are there but gone still in the thinnest of days.
I’m different from them I can still see and understand. I am unconquerable to my fate and my soul.
I look deep in the darkness and see my self and not sure what to do. I am trapped like an addict and hate to see what waits there in front of me.
I walk out of the darkness feeling relieved I am the lucky one,
Because those chumps are dead as you see and can never be the captain of there fate and soul.

Hear You Me . . .

There’s no one in town that I know.
You gave us some place to go.
I never said thank you for that.
I thought I might get one more chance.
What would you think of me now?
So lucky, so strong, so proud?
I never said thank you for that,
Now I’ll never have a chance.
If you were here with me tonight,
I’d sing to you just one more time.
A song for a heart so Big.
God wouldn’t let it live.
May angles lead you in,
Hear you me my friend.

Love Is The Movement

She was just a little girl but very independent.
She was so beautiful but my actions chose to end it.
She was my, everything my thirst and my air.
In this dream I realized how much I care.

She came up missing all alone and afraid.
I thought the worst I thought it was to late.
Halloween is evil and a dark time to see.
Was I that bad that she chose to leave?

No yelling, no screams, and no prayers helped.
She didn’t come back no matter how bad I felt.
The days flew by and the nights a lifetime it seemed
I missed her and her smiled that beamed.

Days after depression and wishes of death
I saw her standing there and it took my breath
She smiled and ran to me and an “I love you’’ she sent
And it was then that I realized that, THAT LOVE IS THE MOVEMENT.
