Harry Houdini is the son of Mayor Samuel Weiss, and was born in Appleton Wisconsin. His real moms name was Cecilia Steiner, Samuel’s second wife. Harry Houdini, or his real name Erich Weiss, was born on April 6, 1874. His greatest accomplishment was the torture cell escape. Out of the creed he would fit under personal growth, because of the new trials and hardships he was willing to face. He learned and grew from what he went through.
He was a magician and illusionist. He escaped life/death situations and proved it could be done. His main inspiration went to a man named Robert Houdini. Harry took his name and made his own, added an I at the end and that’s where he got his new name. He ran away from home when he was 12. A year later, he came back to his family. He lived life to its fullest and tried as many things as he could.
The Torture Cell Escape, his greatest accomplishment of all. This escape featured a tall, rectangular cell full of water. Harry suspended over it upside down by his feet, his feet locked in stocks. The cell had a glass front so the audience had a clear view of Harry Houdini. The stocks would lower and lock on the top of the cell, leaving Harry upside down in the water. A curtain would conceal his escape. He used to do this act while in a metal cage instead of the stock. Back then harry called this the ‘’Houdini Upside Down,’’ or ‘’USD.’’ That is the best accomplishment of his life because neither I nor any other ordinary man could accomplish that.
The aspect of the creed that Harry Houdini falls under is personal growth. Like I said before he’s fearless, lived his life to the fullest, and tried new things. When I say he’s fearless, I mean he risked his life to prove whatever it was that he was trying to prove, which in my eyes is that he wanted to prove that things can be done. Even in the worst of circumstances. He lived his life to its fullest; he didn’t fear death, or the consequences of what he was doing. He believed not in fear. He tried new things; he had so many incredible acts and crazy shows. But still he wanted more. He expanded and learned so that’s why he is under personal growth.
What other aspect of the creed would the famous Harry Houdini fit into better than ‘’personal growth?’’ Another question I have to ask is what other act of his is better than his ‘’Chinese Torture Cell Escape?’’ That’s right, nothing! You can be as bad as Harry Houdini in a lot of ways, like expanding your knowledge and going to school. Or try new stuff like food, or music or whatever you want. But don’t stop there! Keep going, like Harry did until his last breath. Help others; entertain people in positive ways where everyone is accepted and laughs. Try it.
